The short answers to the questions people ask most. If yours is not here, send it through the contact form.
Getting a document analyzed
- Upload a PDF of the minutes or agenda, or paste a public HTTPS link to one.
- Add the agency name so the report is labeled correctly.
- Analysis usually takes under a minute. Leave the tab open while it runs.
- Text-based PDFs work best. Scanned images produce thin results.
If an analysis fails
Submit the same document again — upload the file or paste the same public link. A run that failed on a timeout or a busy AI service is re-tried against the existing record, and it does not use another slot on your monthly limit.
Reading the risk tiers
- Clear — routine business with no flags.
- Watch — worth reading, usually a procedural or low-dollar item.
- Warning — significant spending, a rushed process, or an item buried on the consent calendar.
- Critical — large dollar amounts, sole-source contracts, or actions with direct public impact.
Plans and limits
- The free Citizen plan includes three analyses per calendar month.
- Deep Dive Pro provides unlimited analyses. Voting analytics, alerts, press kits, outreach tools, and the member directory are still coming soon.
- You can upgrade, cancel, or request a refund from the account portal.
Privacy of your reports
Your uploads and reports are private to you. They appear to anyone else only if you mark a report public.
The civic feed
Meetings from participating agencies are imported automatically and appear in your portal without any upload. They are public records shared with all members.
